Could my newborn be on my sleep schedule& can I change it?

My 4 day old is sleeping sooo well during the day but is up all night long.. Both me and my husband work graveyard shifts.. So could he actually be sleeping when I did? Its definitely difficult now that I try to sleep at night, and be up during the day. Its hard to help out during the night, since I do have stitches and I should be resting. It also sleeps in a bouncer during the day, sleeps very well in but once you put him flat on his back, he cries... How can I change it so he sleeps better at night?
