How do I get the swelling to go down quickly?

I have a severly spained ankle and its about the size of a large softball, you cant see my ankle bones at all. It happened late saturday afternoon and it hasnt gone down any, I've tryed icing all day sunday, and today I've had it elavated all day and its still the same. please help with any suggestions. thanks
