I started taking Tylenol Cold Multi Symptom but now I want to take Mucinex to release the phlegm. Is this ok?

I've been taking the Tylenol Cold for 2 1/2 days. I have asthma and really want to get rid of the chest congestion. Any suggestions? Thanks.
