Why do players miss so many shots in NBA 2K9?

I have played this game but on the PS3. I believe it can be caused by one of three factors: 1) either little or no experience playing basketball video games, 2) the general physics/dynamics of the game (where it can "cheat" you out of or give you a shot), or 3) playing the game but not being able to remember key basic ons. I know because I have played basketball sports (it was NBA Live 2003 on my sister's XBox, which is now all but ruined) and I had missed a lot of good shots due to my forgetting of how to play this type of game and of me having a hard time with the PS3 controller. IDK what else it could be besides those factors. My best advice is to ask the developer (2K Games) or ask someone you know who has played it and see what they say. Hope my answer helps!
