Bhakti (Devotion to God) is like a king who has two attendants called wisdom and detachment. Bhakti must be built upon the foundation of wisdom; it must blossom in to detachment from the world. Prema (Love) gives rise to Daya (compion), Vairagya (detachment) and induces Dama (self-control) and finally leads us along the path of Dharma (righteousness).
